The property consists of approximately 80 deeded acres lying on Alkali Creek, including and contiguous with 2 State of Wyoming Sections of approximately 1280 acres with grazing leases attached to them. The State of Wyoming grazing lease consists of approximately 284 A.U.M.s. Grazing leases are renewable every 10 years with the Wyoming state land board. 2015 grazing lease was $1743.76, fees may vary year to year. It has historically been used as summer range for sheep.

The Alkali Pasture is located Hot Springs County, in northwestern Wyoming. Thermopolis, the county seat, is located on the banks of the Big Horn River at the mouth of Wind River Canyon.  Lying on the southern slope of the Big Horn Basin, the Alkali Pasture is on Alkali Creek, a tributary of Kirby Creek, which is a tributary of the Big Horn River.  It is situated approximately 20 miles east of Thermopolis and surrounded by Private, State, and Federal lands.  The access is across BLM lands, and there are no improved roads once leaving state and county roads.  No improvements or buildings are on the property.  Livestock is trailed from county roads, approximately 3 miles into the property.  The Alkali Pasture is watered by springs, reservoirs, and Alkali Creek.  The creek is seasonal with water depending on winter and spring moisture.  Springs on the property have had minimal development yet are very reliable sources of water.  There are also 2 reservoirs that provide water to the west end of the pasture. Livestock water has historically proven to be very reliable.  The pasture consists of two high plateaus sloping into a basin, divided by Alkali Creek.  Elevation is about 5800 feet.  Grass and sage brush cover deep draws, plateaus, and basins, providing excellent cover and feed for livestock and wildlife.  Two track roads allow A.T.V. and four wheel drive access throughout the pasture.
